Job description
As a Real Estate Underwriter, you will play a crucial role in evaluating and assessing real estate transactions to ensure their accuracy, risk levels, and compliance with company policies and industry regulations. You will work closely with loan officers, real estate agents, and other stakeholders to analyze property values, borrower qualifications, and financial documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
Review and analyze property appraisals, credit reports, and financial statements to assess risk and ensure compliance with underwriting guidelines.
Evaluate market conditions and property values to make informed underwriting decisions.
Ensure all underwriting processes and procedures are followed, maintaining adherence to regulatory and company standards.
Prepare detailed reports and documentation related to underwriting decisions and communicating findings to relevant stakeholders.
Stay current with industry trends, regulations, and best practices to ensure underwriting practices remain up-to-date and compliant.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in finance, Real Estate, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Minimum of 5 years of experience in real estate underwriting or a related field.
Strong understanding of real estate markets, property valuations, and risk assessment.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively interact with clients and colleagues.
